Cant download the subtitles - got an error msgs

I have used Amara for a long time and everything has worked perfect. But yesterday I got a problem while I was downloading a subtitle I had made. When I clicked on download and chosed srt file, I got the message I have take a screenshot of. I tried again today, and got the same message. I therefore tried to download fromanother video I translated yesterday, and that one went okay. So either I have mad a mistake with this one, or there is a general system failure with subs made after a certain time yesterday. The video I have problems with is this one :

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Kari,

There is currently a problem with downloading subtitles when there is a question mark in the video's title, because the question mark gets added to the name of the download file, and then the download doesn't work and instead produces the message you saw and took the screenshot of: see bendk's comment in the Amara Github ticket entitled "errors opening some video lang pages related to download".

Fortunately, there is a work around: removing the question mark in the URL of the download file.

In your example, the title of the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye5GvfCaK78&feature=youtu.be video is "Ylvis - Hvem vasker ikke hendene?" and the URL of the corresponding Amara page is http://www.amara.org/videos/QeMhdNgzp2oF/info/ylvis-hvem-vasker-ikke-hendene/.

Say you were trying to download the English subtitles made in
http://www.amara.org/en/videos/QeMhdNgzp2oF/en/627275/ as an .srt file, the URL produced by the software for this .srt is http://www.amara.org/en/subtitles/QeMhdNgzp2oF/en/2/download/Ylvis%20-%20Hvem%20vasker%20ikke%20hendene?.en.srt and it does not work. But if you remove the question mark after hendene, you get http://www.amara.org/en/subtitles/QeMhdNgzp2oF/en/2/download/Ylvis%20-%20Hvem%20vasker%20ikke%20hendene.en.srt and that one works.

Same for the downloads in other formats. To get the URL of another format, right-click on it in the download drop list, then choose "copy URL" from the contextual menu that appears. Then paste it somewhere, remove the question mark derived from the title of the video, and the new URL will work.

Best wishes for this starting year,

Claude
