Apologies for the delay, William Graham: the filter misdirected your post to spam.
As the form for adding a video to Amara says: "Acceptable formats include: Vimeo, YouTube, MP4, WebM, OGG, and MP3". Vimeo and YouTube are hosting platforms where the video page URL can be used to create an Amara subtitling page. Otherwise, the video must be hosted in a way that preserves its file extension - .mp4, .webm, .ogg, .mp3 .
Google Drive does not preserve these file extensions, therefore videos hosted there cannot play in Amara. Therefore you could add your video to Vimeo or YouTube, or add it online to a website or blog or other hosting service that preserves these extensions.
Best,
Claude

Hello everyone. I can’t play videos from Google Drive directly? Just “Whoops! There was a problem playing this video” error showing. Guys I don’t know why this is happening and how to fix this issue. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
