upload subtitles from my computer

Hello!

I am trying to upload subtitles in format .ass from my computer but after telling me

"processing, please wait", after some minutes nothing happens and the subtitles are not uploaded.

does someone had the same problem?

thank you!

Thank you for your question, Martina. The Amara widget for uploading subtitles says:

"Our site accepts SRT, SSA, SBV, DFXP, TXT, and VTT format. Only files ending in .srt, .ssa, .sbv, .dfxp, .txt, .vtt or .xml (for dfxp) are accepted."

So .ass files cannot be processed by the Amara software.

If you made the subtitles with a desktop subtitling software, try exporting them in one of the supported formats. If you got the subtitles from elsewhere, there are online subtitle converters where you can upload your .ass file and request its conversion into an accepted format.

I can't recommend a specific tool because I've never done that type of conversion, but if you put

ass subtitle converter

in a search engine, you should find a few.

All the best,

Claude Almansi

claude, thanks for your reply.

i did what you suggest, and converted my desktop ASS file into SRT.

but when i tried to upload it, it happens the same.

here you can see the page with the last message i can see.

then i can not do anything more.

thank you again!!

Hi, Martina. You should indicate the language of your subtitles next to "idioma".If you still have problems when you indicate it, please attach your SRT file to a reply here Best, Claude
