Subtitle Editor

Where in the world is the Subtitle Editor?

I stumbled upon it once, used it, saved my work and now I can't find it :(

This might be a silly question to you, but very frustrating to users!

Thank you for this very useful question, Basel.

When an Amara work page is initially from an online video via http://www.amara.org/en/videos/create/, that page normally (1)  does not have any subtitles, so the way you access the subtitle editor is via the Add Language link in that page.
Example of such a page without subtitles (so far): http://www.amara.org/en/videos/uzUcRnYpS0qp/info/the-president-speaks-at-the-white-house-mentorship-and-leadership-graduation-ceremony/.

Once you've started a subtitle set in a given language with the editor, and saved your work, a link on the name of the language appears in the page that was initially created. If you want to further edit these subtitles, click on that language link, then on the Edit Subtitles button and you'll be taken to the subtitle editor.
Example of a page with several subtitle sets: http://www.amara.org/en/videos/mbDzxoHg5IAv/info/nepal-earthquake-2015-videos-capture-second-quake-the-new-york-times/. Say you click on English, that page has an Edit Subtitles button that will take you to the subtitle editor for these English subtitles, http://www.amara.org/en/videos/mbDzxoHg5IAv/en/994462/.

Now if you don't remember the URL of the main page where you made the subtitles, you can find it via the Videos tab of your profile if you created that page yourself, or via the Activity tab of your profile.

I hope this helps?

Best,

Claude

(1) "normally" because in some cases, if the original video used to create the Amara page already has subtitles, they get transfered to the created Amara page.
