Thank you for reporting this. I've sometimes had problems opening the subtitle editor when my internet connection is wobbly. If this is not your case, could you please create a ticket (via http://support.amara.org/support/tickets/new), indicating the Operating System of your computer and which browser you're using, as well as the URL of the video/s where this happens?
In fact, tickets go to the tech staff who'll be better able than me to help you.
