Delete subtitles

I would like to delete English subtitles of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AW3bPaErUWU

http://www.amara.org/en/videos/8apNZeuM6X9K/en/231250/

because I would like to create new ones in different language. Is there any possiblity to do that?

Hi Anna,

As you were the only English subtitler, I downloaded your Revision 2 - the most advanced - in case you or someone else later wants to restart the English subtitles. Then, using the fact that team admins can now delete subtitle sets, even if I don't like that privilege, I temporarily added the video to a team where I'm admin, and deleted the existing subs. Then I removed the video from the team.

Concretely, this means that you can now start subtitles in other languages for that video from its main page, http://www.amara.org/en/videos/8apNZeuM6X9K/info/connecting-the-keynesian-cross-to-the-is-curve.
As you hadn't started syncing the English subtitles yet, I'm attaching the .txt file of your revision 2 that I downloaded for possible future reuse.

Happy subtitling,
Claude

Thank you very much!

Now I need your help once more, as I'd like to create Polish subtitles for this video

http://www.amara.org/en/videos/R5MzxuFehnPy/info/government-spending-and-the-is-lm-model/

but there are already Spanish subtitles, which are incomplete (only 2 lines), so I don't have space neither for translation, nor for new subtitles.

Hi Anna,

The simplest way to start new Polish subtitles from the video in this case is
  • pretend to accept to translate the Spanish subtitles into Polish
  • when you get in the "translation" interface, click the "Convert to Timed Subtitles (advanced)" link

You'll get a pop-up that says:

"Convert to Timed Subtitles
You are about to convert this translation to Timed Subtitles. Please note:

  • You will no longer be able to see the language you were translating from.
  •  Any untranslated lines will be blank.
  •   You will not be able to undo this action.

ARE YOU SURE you want to continue?"

Just click "Continue" and you'll be in the interface for making the Polish subs directly from the video.

Then there's another way to do Polish subs from scratch using the new beta editor, but it seems more complicated - and I haven't tried it yet.

So could you try the first way, and if it doesn't work for you, I'll try and make a "dummy" first line, as I don't know Polish?

Thanks! It works :)
