I've completed the subtitle but it shows no subtitles yet.

I've completed the subtitle, and I still can see my work in the editor.

However I can't select my language while playing the video. It shows no subtitles yet.

How can I deal with this problem?

Hi Roland,

Please give a link to the Amara page for the video or - if possible - to the subpage with the subtitles you are working on: this way I'll be able to take a closer look.

Thank you!

Best,

Claude

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I've just subtitled a video in English and Spanish using originally the new editor. I can see the subtitles in English but not in Spanish:

Video: http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/info/countdown-by-alan-weisman/
English subtitles: http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/en/708359/
Spanish subtitles: http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/es/708375/

Thanks for your help!
Hi Marcos,

In the case of http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/info/countdown-by-alan-weisman/, there is a minor thing that should not create the issue you mention but just might: the video's language has been defined as English, British and you made the original captions as English.

So now, I'm goig to reupload your English subs as English, British, in case having one set of "original captions" in the same language as the video makes the software show all subtitles. If not, then let's consider a ticket for the Amara developers, OK?

Best,

Claude Almansi

No, adding pseudo English, British captions didn't work: I did get an apparent droplist starting with them below the player, but clicking on the list still opened the dialog for starting a new set of subtitles, instead of letting me choose other subtitles. So I removed the English, British captions I had added.

Marcos, could you please make a ticket about this issue of no way to change the subtitles' language using the droplist of http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/info/countdown-by-alan-weisman/   (via http://support.amara.org/support/tickets/new)?

I'm asking you, because if you make the ticket, I'll be able to read - and interact with - it, if needs be, whereas if I do, you won't.

Best,

Claude

Hi, Claude,

Thank you so much. I'm not sure where the droplist to open a ticket is, but I've checked the video and everything seems to be working fine now. Should I open it anyway?

Thanks again,

Marcos

Thank you, Marcos: as you say, the  droplist below the player now works correctly, so there is no more need to make a ticket.

Apologies for the badly structured sentence about the ticket in my former reply. That's academic now as my request is obsolete, but the sentence should have read:

"Marcos, could you please make a ticket  (via http://support.amara.org/support/tickets/new) about this issue of no way to change the subtitles' language using the droplist of http://amara.org/es/videos/9Pi3YGMQi4gZ/info/countdown-by-alan-weisman/   ?"

Update:

PCF Support's replies to tickets about similar issues confirm that there was a technical problem with the server yesterday, which has now  been solved.
