Your personal Orders Workspace on Amara is a private space where completed AI captions and subtitles are delivered to your video and audio files, and where Orders Workspace owners can conveniently view, download, or edit their AI captions.

Integrating your personal Orders Workspace with your Vimeo account provides benefits that help save you time by automating several steps:

  • Import subtitles automatically when you add a video from your Vimeo account to your personal Orders Workspace.

  • Export subtitles automatically from Amara to the videos on your Vimeo account when marked complete on Amara.

Set up the Integration between a Vimeo Account and your Personal Orders Workspace

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • A Vimeo account can only be connected to one place on Amara. You can connect your Vimeo account to your personal Orders Workspace or one Amara team, but not to multiple Orders Workspaces or teams.

  • Ensure that you are logged in to your Vimeo account before starting the integration process.

  1. Go to your personal Orders Workspace on Amara.

  2. Select Integrations from the menu bar:

Menu bar in the Orders Workspace, with the Integrations menu option highlighted.

  1. Select the Add Account button.

  2. In the Vimeo tab click the Add Vimeo account button:

Vimeo channel integration pop up window with Add Vimeo account button highlighted.

  1. Choose a Vimeo account.

  2. Review the permissions and click on the Allow button:

NOTE:

  • After your Vimeo account is integrated, when you add videos from your Vimeo account to your personal Orders Workspace video information such as title, thumbnail, and description will be imported.

  • Subtitles are exported automatically from Amara to the videos on your Vimeo channel whenever they are completed and published on Amara.

  • Changes made to subtitles on Vimeo will not update on Amara. Use Amara to edit subtitles.

Privacy and Special Considerations

  • Videos are hosted on Vimeo, so any updates made to the video content on Vimeo will be reflected on Amara.

  • Vimeo privacy settings for a video determines what it looks like in the video player where the video is embedded.

  • Subtitles imported from Vimeo will appear on the Subtitle Details page as Revision 1 imported by “Amara Bot.”

Subtitles imported from YouTube will appear on the Subtitle Details page as Revision 1 imported by “Amara Bot.”

  • Vimeo supports adding both a subtitles and captions track for the same language. When Amara exports subtitles to Vimeo, they are added as a subtitles track.
