Amara can be used to caption private videos, but as an Amara Enterprise, paying, solution. As Margarita Shamraeva explained to Qin Qin in the Can Amara subtitle system be used in Udemy online course platform? discussion, also about captioning private videos:

"Please feel very welcome to fill out the form at http://pro.amara.org/choose-enterprise. Our staff will reach out to you and explain in detail what options are available for organizing and coordinating crowdsourced subtitling and how they can help you reach your goals."

 

Nevertheless, you can use the general, free version of Amara to subtitle YouTube unlisted videos. However, the problem would be that while unlisted YouTube videos are not indexed by search engines, Amara pages created from them are indexed, and so show up e.g. in Google search results.

Si on met 'Iss Pyaar' (sans guillemets) dans le moteur de recherche de la page des vidéos présentes sur Amara, http://www.amara.org/videos/watch/, on arrive à une liste de 45 résultats . Mais dans beaucoup de cas, la vidéo YouTube qui devrait être montrée a été bloquée pour violation de droit d'auteur.

Toutefois sur YouTube, il y a une playlist "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?" de 269 vidéos, créée par starplus. Et starplus semble l'ayant-droit pour ces vidéos: en tout cas, elles ne sont pas bloquées.

Alors, ce que vous pouvez faire, c'est de prendre l'URL de ces vidéos qui marchent sur YouTube et les insérer dans la page "Sous-titre une vidéo" d'Amara - http://www.amara.org/fr/videos/create/ - l'une après l'autre. Ceci produira des pages vidéos Amara qui marchent, et que vous et d'autres pourrez sous-titrer.

Please go instead to https://amara.org/en/subtitling-platform/, then

• under Enterprise Platform, click on the Get started button
• choose one of the solutions offered and click on its Sign Up button
• fill the form that will appear.
