Why does line break not work in actual video

 Hello

I've just put a video on the platform

http://www.amara.org/en/videos/5nEWH2oO2L4l/en/772124/

and tried to respect the 42 characters per line rule by using ctrl + enter to get line breaks in my subtitles.

This seemed to work but when I play the video, it doesn't.

Lines are too long and the only breaks are entered by the system when the line is so long that it cannot be displayed

eg: I have in editor

on screen in play, I can see

Thanks for any help

Hi SafeTex

Thank you for reporting that issue. Actually, Amara's tech staff is already looking into it. Normally, it only affects subtitles in playing mode in  the Amara player, but not the subtitle file nor its viewing in the editing player, where line breaks are preserved.

Should it not be so with the videos that you are / have been working on, could you please indicate the URLs of the affected subtitles here?

Thank you in advance,

Claude
