What kind of videos can I add?

We support flv, mp3, mp4, ogv, webm file formats
Before adding a video to a team
Only add videos that you own or have obtained permission to share. Review Amara’s Terms of Service for more information
Public videos are easiest for allowing Amara users to view and subtitle. Learn more about video permissions in our integration articles:
Important: Amara does not host videos
We only import video information
Video must be embeddable and public to view on Amara
Check host site settings, whitelist if necessary
If a video is private, users will not be able to view it
If a video is password protected, users must enter the password to view
Who can add videos to your team?
The team’s settings determine who can add videos to your team. Administrators and owners can always add videos, and managers can be allowed based on settings. Team admins and owners can go to Team Settings > Permissions to view and change the team’s settings.
Note: Contributors currently cannot be given permission to add videos. Email support@amara.org to let us know if you want that option for your team!

Go to your Team page > Videos tab > click the “Add videos” link
How many videos can I add?
You can add multiple videos from Amara and other sites. Click the “Add multiple video URLs” tab in the dialog box and enter one URL per line.
To add a video feed from its hosting site, your Amara Team must be authorized to import videos.
To to Team > Settings tab > Integrations page to set up video import.

Adding video feeds
After setting up your integrations, go to Team > Settings tab > Feeds page to enter the feed URL. Hover over the + button and click Add video feed to get started.
Enter the feed URL and then click the “import now” button to import videos.
You can add a public Amara video to your team if the video does not already belong to another team.
Search for videos by title in Amara’s public video library and click on a video title to go the video page.
Click the 3 dots to the right of the Add/Edit subtitles button, then “Move video to your team”:
If you have more than one team, you will be prompted to choose which team to add the video to.
Videos must be embeddable
Amara.org does not host video or audio records
We only store subtitles and some related data
Amara plays videos from their source location
Whitelist www.amara.org for embedding on video source site
