The language already exists and you can't change its translation from English; when the language doesn't exits in real

Hello guys,
I have a problem uploading direct subtitles. I want to add subtitles by .srt and it says: The language already exists and you can't change its translation from English; when the language doesn't exits in real. http://www.amara.org/en/videos/U4PgWBYUsi50/info/kuzey-guney-47bolum/
I want to add Albanian language. The same problem for another video but I thought that was just a technical problem so I doesn't pay attention to that, but it was the same problem for this video. :((((((((((((((((

Well, thanks Claude for your reply but I don't want to argue more. I will just upload subtitles as "Afar" and to let them. I made it "Translated from - Select Language -". I don't want to chose English because the subtitles aren't with that synch.

Thanks, Eri.

Hi Eri,

As your title indicates, the language for the video has been wrongly defined as "English" whereas the video is in Turkish. And this is something that  a) only someone from Amara can correct; b) can cause problems, perhaps including the one for uploading subs that you describe. So if no one from Amara spontaneously replies here, try e-mailing someone listed in http://pculture.org/pcf/about: e.g. Dean Jansen, who was the last person from Amara to post on this forum (as PCF Support)

Just an idea, meantime:
When you got that message, did you set "Translated from" as English or as Turkish?
  • If you already tried with both: pity, I can't think of another workaround presently.
  • If you tried with just one, try with the other: who knows? It might work.

And could you also give the URL of the other video where you had the same problem, please? And/or check yourself if the video's language for it was correctly set?

Best,

Claude
